Staff

Mike Coglan - Senior Pastor

Mike Coglan I was raised a in secular home in the Chicago area.  During high school, I discovered my passions: Jesus and my future wife Laura.  After college, we married and eventually came to a deep engagement with a wonderful church.  Although I had a promising career in business, I found myself consumed with church leadership.  Just a few months after earning my MBA, God called me back to school at North Park Theological Seminary.  Since graduating, I have applied myself to making the church a more effective force for sharing the good news and making disciples.  I love my church, I love my town, and I love starting spiritual conversations with skeptical people.  In my spare time, I like to write, hunt, lead men's wilderness trips, and travel with Laura to visit our grown children and their families in Alaska and Colorado.

Grayson Daganaar - Youth Pastor

Growing up in the church, my years in high school played a critical role in my spiritual development. It was during this time that I had a wonderful youth pastor who saw my strengths, passions, and interests, and showed me how I could use them to serve God. Now that I am a youth pastor, I also see that as a critical part of my calling. I love spending time with middle and high school students, listening to their stories and answering questions about what it means to be a follower of Christ. I find youth ministry to be the most energizing form of ministry. My wife, Katherine, and I came to Community Covenant Church in November 2015. In February, we welcomed our wonderful son, Hendrick. He has helped us understand the words of the old hymn, “How sweet to hold a newborn baby; and feel the pride and joy he gives.” Our interests include reading, watching Netflix, late-night Sonic runs, and playing with our dog, Max. We both love Kansas City and call it home.

Delene Weeks-Children's Ministry Director

Delene grew up in church with her family in southern Indiana. After sensing a call into ministry in high school she moved to Kansas City for her theological education. She earned the Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Her passions include cooking, exploring new places, listening to a variety of different music, and immersing herself into Korean culture. She hopes to share her enthusiasm for scripture to the children at Kearney Community Covenant Church.

Growing up in a small town, attending vacation bible school and Sunday school class was something she looked forward to.  She is excited to see the ways in which God is going to use her, in her position. She and her husband, Jerry, have two wonderful grown boys, Victor and Aaron. In their spare time they enjoy taking family vacations.
